Celebrate the holiday season with an enchanting evening of music featuring classical guitarist Matt Mifflin and percussionist Alcocer performing holiday favorites.
Matt Mifflin is a professional guitarist and educator with a rich background in both classical and electric guitar. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in 2017, where he studied under George Lindquist and performed as a soloist in multiple recitals. He was also a member of the UW-Parkside Guitar Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra, studying viola as a secondary instrument under Alvaro Garcia. In 2020, Matt completed his Master’s degree in Classical Guitar at Northwestern University. Matt has over 14 years of experience as an electric guitarist, focusing primarily on metal, and has studied with notable figures such as Oliver Herbert and Teemu Mäntysaari. He currently teaches applied guitar and Popular Music in America at Carthage College.
Eliana Alcocer is a distinguished percussionist, a Percussion/Conservatory Connections Faculty member at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music and a Teaching Artist for Sistema Ravinia at the Ravinia Festival. A UW-Parkside alumna, Eliana has performed in prominent showcases, including the Solo Marimba Showcase at the Wisconsin Day of Percussion, and is celebrated for her dynamic performances, vocals and teaching expertise.
